Liebe Mitbürgerinnen und Mitbürger,
besuchen Sie den Africa Day 2019 unter dem Motto „Kultur, Bildung, Business“ – gewinnen Sie neue Eindrücke, lernen Sie Menschen kennen und feiern Sie mit uns vier Tage lang eine Veranstaltung der afrikanischen Lebensfreude, Kulturen und Traditionen – mit Musik, Tanz, Speisen und Getränken, Gebeten, vielen interessanten Informations- und Bildungsangeboten und prominenten Gästen aus Afrika und Deutschland.
Begleitet wird der Africa Day 2019 am 22. Mai erneut von einem Africa Day Business- und Investment Forum. Ziel der Konferenz ist es, durch Projekte und Kooperationen insbesondere in Afrika nachhaltige Wirtschaftsbeziehungen und Arbeitsplätze zu schaffen. Erneut werden hochkarätige Gäste das Forum begleiten und für interessante Beiträge und ein aktives Networking sorgen.
Seit 2012 feiern Afrikaner und Afro-Deutsche den Africa Day in Hamburg als kulturellen Höhepunkt des Jahres und integratives Fest gemeinsam mit den deutschstämmigen Hamburgerinnen und Hamburgern. Gefeiert wird am Africa Day der Gründungstag der Afrikanischen Union durch die Staats- und Regierungschefs von dreißig unabhängigen afrikanischen Staaten am 25. Mai 1963 in Addis Abeba in Äthiopien.

Dear fellow Citizens in Hamburg,
visit the Africa Day 2019 under the motto "Culture, Education, Business" - gain new impressions, get to know people and celebrate with us for four days an event of African joie de vivre, cultures and traditions - with music, dance, food and drinks, prayers, many interesting information and educational offers and prominent guests from Africa and Germany.
Africa Day 2019 will once again be accompanied by an Africa Day Business and Investment Forum on May 22. The aim of the conference is to create sustainable economic relations and jobs through projects and cooperation, especially in Africa. Once again top-class guests will accompany the forum and ensure interesting contributions and active networking.
Since 2012, Africans and Afro-Germans have been celebrating the Africa Day in Hamburg as the cultural highlight of the year and integrative festival together with the Hamburg-born German citizens. The Africa Day celebrates the founding of the African Union by the heads of state and government of thirty independent African states on May 25, 1963, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Liebe Leserinnen und Leser,
vom 23. bis zum 26. Mai ist der Wandsbeker Markplatz wieder einmal fest in der Hand des Africa Day. Seit 2012 hat sich das integrative Familienfest der Hamburgerinnen und Hamburg mit oder ohne afrikanische Wurzeln zu einer echten Institution entwickelt, die viele Menschen begeistert und das Miteinander in unserer Stadt fördert. Hamburg ist bunt und vielfältig und das spiegelt die Veranstaltung wunderbar wieder. Der Africa Day ist auch ein jährlicher Erinnerungstag an die Gründung der Organisation für Afrikanische Einheit (heute: Afrikanische Union) am 25. Mai 1963. An diesem Tag wurde in Addis Abeba die Charta der gemeinsamen Positionen von 30 afrikanischen Staaten unterzeichnet. In diesem Jahr geht es beim Africa Day um Kultur, Bildung und Business – ein breites Programm erwartet die Gäste. Ich wünsche allen Besucherinnen und Besuchern und auch allen, die zum Gelingen der Veranstaltung beitragen auch in diesem Jahr wieder gute Begegnungen und inspirierende Erlebnisse beim diesjährigen Africa Day!

From the 23rd to the 26th of May the Wandsbeker Markplatz is once again firmly in the hands of the Africa Day. Since 2012, the Integrative Family Festival of Hamburgers, with or without African roots, has developed into a real institution that inspires many people and promotes cooperation in our city. Hamburg is colorful and diverse and that mirrors the event wonderfully. The Africa Day is also an annual commemoration day for the creation of the Organization of African Unity (now African Union) on May 25, 1963. On this day, the Charter of Common Positions of 30 African States was signed in Addis Ababa. This year, Africa Day is all about culture, education and business - a wide program awaits the guests. I wish all visitors and all those who contribute to the success of the event once again this year good meetings and inspiring experiences at this year's Africa Day!
